🖥️ Kramm for Windows · Beginner's Guide

Your Kramm desktop app,
step by step.

No technical knowledge needed. Follow the steps below and you'll go from download to done — working even when your internet doesn't.

Which file do I need?

There are two versions. Both are the full Kramm app — pick the one that fits your computer.

💾 Portable

Kramm-Portable-*.exe
  • ✅ Single file — no installation at all
  • ✅ Runs from Downloads, Desktop, even a USB stick
  • ✅ Perfect for shared PCs or locked office computers
  • ⚙️ Just double-click it every time you want Kramm
💡

What you need: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), about 250 MB free space, and internet once for downloading and signing in. After that, most of the app works offline.

1 Download · 2 minutes

Download the app

Get Kramm only from the official download page, so you always receive the genuine, latest version.

  1. Open your browser (Chrome or Edge) and go to kramm.app/download.
  2. Click Download Setup (recommended) or Download Portable.
  3. Your browser saves a .exe file (about 80 MB). Wait until the download finishes completely.
  4. Open your Downloads folder — you should see Kramm-Setup-*.exe or Kramm-Portable-*.exe.

Tip: the page always shows the newest version number and date. If a friend sends you an .exe file directly, prefer downloading fresh — yours may be outdated.

2 Install · 3 minutes

Install it (Setup) — or just run it (Portable)

Follow the column that matches the file you downloaded.

Portable
  1. (Optional) Move Kramm-Portable-*.exe to your Desktop for easy access.
  2. Double-click it. That's it — Kramm opens. 🎉
  3. Nothing is installed; to “uninstall”, just delete the file later.
🛡️

“Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen)? This is normal for new apps. Click More info, then Run anyway. Kramm comes from the official site and contains no ads or bundled software.

3 First launch · 2 minutes

Sign in to your account

You need internet one time here. Signing in connects the app to your secure cloud account so your data syncs.

  1. Kramm opens to a Sign in screen. Enter the email and password you use on kramm.app.
  2. New to Kramm? Click Sign up and create an account first (takes a minute).
  3. After signing in, you'll land on your Board — your home screen.
  4. Leave the app open for a minute while it loads your tasks, habits and settings. Done!
🔑

Google sign-in: it opens securely in your browser, then returns you to the app automatically. Your password is never stored in the app.

4 Everyday use

Your 5-minute tour

Everything lives in the left sidebar. Here are the views you'll use daily:

📋 Board & Calendar

Your home. Add tasks (Ctrl + N), drag them between days, set priorities.

✅ Today's Tasks

Only what matters today. Tick things off — it feels great.

🔥 Habits

Build streaks for exercise, reading, anything. Check in daily.

💰 Budget

Log spending and watch your savings goals grow.

🍅 Pomodoro

Focus timer: 25 minutes work, 5 minutes rest. The app can remind you.

👥 Team + ✨ Control

Team calendar & Kramm Control need internet (see Step 7).

⌨️

Handy shortcuts: Ctrl + N new task · Ctrl + K command bar (Kramm Control) · Ctrl + D switch theme · Esc close popups.

5 The superpower · offline mode

Working without internet

Travelling, power cut, bad Wi-Fi? Keep working. The desktop app saves everything on your PC first.

  1. When you go offline, an amber banner appears at the top: “You're offline — …”. That's normal — it's just informing you.
  2. Keep adding tasks, checking habits, logging expenses, running the focus timer. All of it works.
  3. The banner tells you how many changes are waiting, e.g. “3 changes will sync.”
  4. Don't sign out or uninstall while offline — your waiting changes live on this PC until they sync.
⚠️

Two exceptions: Team Calendar (with team chat) and Kramm Control / AI features need internet. If you open them offline you'll see a friendly “needs internet” screen instead of your data. Everything else works.

6 Back online

Automatic sync

You don't have to press anything. Reconnect and the app handles it.

  1. Reconnect to Wi-Fi. Within about 30 seconds the banner turns green: “Back online — N changes synced.”
  2. Your offline work uploads to your cloud account automatically, in the order you made it.
  3. Open kramm.app on your phone or another PC — the same changes are there. ✨

Good to know: if two devices edited the same task, the newest change wins. Your data is never silently deleted — empty saves are blocked by a safety check.

7 Online-only features

Team Calendar & Kramm Control

These two views are live and collaborative, so they need an internet connection:

👥 Team Calendar

Shared calendars, live tasks and team chat with your colleagues. Offline you'll see a “needs internet” notice.

✨ Kramm Control

The AI command center and chat (Ctrl + K). It thinks in the cloud, so it pauses while you're offline.

💡

If you see the offline notice, just reconnect — no data is lost, and the view loads by itself once you're back.

8 Zero maintenance

Auto-updates (you do nothing)

Kramm keeps itself up to date whenever you're online. No manual downloads, ever.

  1. When a new version exists, Kramm downloads it quietly in the background while you work.
  2. A small card appears bottom-right: “Kramm vX.Y.Z is ready — Restart to update.”
  3. Click it whenever convenient (or just close Kramm normally). The update installs in seconds and your data is untouched.
  4. Want to check manually? The download page always shows the newest version.
9 Moving on

Uninstall or move to a new PC

  1. First, go online and open Kramm for a minute so any waiting changes sync (check there's no amber banner).
  2. Setup version: Windows Settings → Apps → Kramm → Uninstall. Your cloud data stays safe in your account.
  3. Portable version: just delete the .exe file.
  4. New PC? Install there, sign in — everything downloads from your account automatically.
🛠️ Troubleshooting

Something wrong? Fix it here

The most common issues, in plain language. Click to expand.

🔐 I can't sign in
  1. Check you're online (open any website). First sign-in needs internet.
  2. Make sure you're using the same email as on kramm.app — try signing in there first to confirm your password.
  3. Forgot password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen.
  4. Still stuck? Close Kramm fully and reopen it, then try again.
📡 It says I'm offline but my Wi-Fi works
  1. Click Retry in the amber banner.
  2. Some office/hotel networks block apps — try phone hotspot once to confirm.
  3. Restart Kramm. It re-checks the connection every ~30 seconds by itself.
🔄 My changes aren't syncing
  1. Look at the banner: if it shows “N changes will sync”, you're still offline — reconnect and wait ~30 seconds.
  2. If you're online and it persists, restart Kramm — sync retries automatically on launch.
  3. Never sign out while changes are waiting; they upload only from a signed-in app.
⬆️ The update won't install
  1. Click Restart to update and let Kramm close fully (check the system tray — right-click Kramm → Quit).
  2. Reopen Kramm; the new version should be active.
  3. Last resort: download the newest Setup from kramm.app/download and install over the old one — your data is safe.
🛡️ My antivirus flagged the file

New independent apps are sometimes flagged by reputation-based scanners. If you downloaded from kramm.app/download, the file is genuine — choose “Allow / Restore” in your antivirus. (A Microsoft code-signing certificate, which removes these warnings entirely, is on the roadmap.)

👥 Team view shows an offline screen

That's by design, not a bug: Team Calendar and Kramm Control need live internet. Reconnect and the view loads on its own. Your personal tasks and habits are unaffected.
